This article analyzes the state of the Albanian economy in the context of instability and the COVID-19 pandemic. The main focus is on the challenges faced by Albania
under the influence of the strong earthquake in 2019 and the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, and the assessment of their impact on the country’s economy. As a confirmation, statistical data stating the negative impact and expressed in negative economic indicators are provided, in particular GDP, inflation, unemployment, public debt, budget deficit and etc. Measures aimed at stabilizing the country’s economy in the context of global instability are considered. As the results of the study showed, Albania, being a small open economy with limited economic diversification, remains largely exposed to various external and internal risks. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Albanian Government is actively working to support the country’s citizens and restore the economy, but it will be possible to assess the effectiveness of the measures taken only after some time.
