Annotation
The article presents the results of a comparative analysis of marriages and divorces in two neighboring regions of the North-Western region. The Pskov and Novgorod
regions are similar not only in terms of their size, cultural and historical development, but also in terms of their population size and the ratio of men and women. The study
did not reveal any fundamental differences between the categories under consideration, but certain aspects are of interest for the preservation of the family institution in the analyzed territories.
