CURRENT STATE OF TOURIST POTENTIAL OF THE PSKOV REGION

The relevance of the study is due to the fact that the state of the tourist and recreational complex reflects the quality of tourist services and affects the socio-economic development of the region. The article presents the results of a study of the infrastructure of the tourism industry in the Pskov region. The study is defined as applied, based on a modern approach, covers key aspects of the tourist and recreational complex of development of the border area. In the context of the ongoing crisis in the field of tourism, this topic also acquires important social significance. In this study, the goal is to assess the development of individual elements of the tourist and recreational complex in the context of the strategy for sustainable development of tourism, as one of the priority areas for the socio-economic development of the region. The methodology of this scientific research is due to the use of a complex of scientific approaches: – economic to determine the effectiveness of the development of indicators of the tourism complex; – geographical for assessing the natural and geographical potential of the Pskov region, for certain types of tourism; – an integrated approach as a research method that considers the elements of the tourist and recreational complex in the unity of its natural-climatic and socio-economic significance.
