Annotation

The article presents an analysis of the main trends in the consumer market in the field of innovation, the features of this market in Russia, the level of business evelopment. The experience of companies operating in the retail market in the development of innovation on the example of the experience of the market leader — X5 Retail Group. The listed directions of research form the purpose and objectives of this work. The calculations of the effectiveness of the innovative project to introduce electronic price tags in the retail chain confirm its feasibility and usefulness for the market as a whole. The introduction of a systematic approach to working with innovation (based on start-ups), as well as the system of electronic price tags will contribute to the development of customer experience and loyalty. The studied and systematized experience of X5 Retail Group seems to be a strategically important step, allowing to optimize labor costs, free up employees’ time for interaction with customers, solving other tasks and can certainly be useful to a wide range of retailers. The article uses the methods of content analysis of literature, economic and statistical methods, economic analysis, investment analysis.
