PROBLEMS OF FORMATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE STATE REGIONAL POLICY: SPATIAL APPROACH

The current stage of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation is characterized by an attempt to solve problems of territorial (regional) significance through the prism of a spatial approach that allows us to consider the desired territory as a unity of society and elements of regional productive forces. It is focusing on the spatial features of the development of regions that makes it possible to determine the role and place of each individual territory in the national system of public relations. The purpose of the work is to identify and systematize the issues of development and application of the theory of economic space in the system of state regional management. The theoretical and methodological basis of the research was the following: the provisions of classical and modern economic theory, the theory of cognition of the development of scientific knowledge and materialistic dialectics, theories of regional economics, management theory; theoretical developments of scientists on the spatial development of economics, etc. The need to understand the essence of the economic space will determine the vector of further development of Russian society in the context of the threats, risks and challenges that the state is currently facing.
