Annotation

This article is an analysis of the historical experience of the pre-revolutionary entrepreneur Ivan Semenov. The study is based on the study of the foundations of the activities and success factors of Ivan Alexandrovich, which allowed him to create his own production of sleeve-setting machines, which not only could replace imported analogues, but lso made Russia the main competitor in the tobacco market. This issue is of particular relevance at present in connection with the import substitution policy pursued by the state. The article analyzes the reasons for the success of the pre-revolutionary entrepreneur, which made it possible not only to create a plant, but also to build a system that allowed this enterprise to survive after the revolution and successfully operate at present. The experience of a pre-revolutionary entrepreneur can be used at the current stage of economic development.
