Annotation
The article examines the essence of such a concept as “career”. Career management is an important component of a modern purposeful person and in this regard, the question of how to properly manage a career is becoming more urgent. The analysis of domestic and foreign articles on the subject under study was used as the main research method. The authors examines the factors that determine an individual’s career preferences, as well as four parameters by which a successful career is evaluated. The stages of career management are defined. Different countries have their own methods of career management, the author considered eight main methods. Russia is characterized by several types of careers that determine the organizational behavior of managers. As a result of the conducted research, it was revealed that for successful career building there are various methods, stages that contribute to the right movement towards the goal.
