Annotation
The article is devoted to analysis of financial system peculiarities in context of higher education in the Russian Federation and countries of the world. The study is aimed at search of further development directions in financial policy within the framework of domestic universities support in context of their development and increase of competitiveness in the international arena. The following research methods were used: comparative analysis, synthesis, generalization, method of expert estimation. The article considers legal and institutional features of functioning in context of bureaucratic, collegial and market financial models of higher educational institutions. Assessment of financial mechanisms introduction in the field of higher education European, Asian countries, and USA, is applied. The article studies peculiarities of Russian universities financial support. It concludes that it is necessary to update financial models in the field of higher education, and to continue implementation of domestic universities comprehensive support programs in the Russian Federation, in order to meet current needs of society and market demand.
