Annotation

The oil and gas industry is a strategically important sector of the Russian economy, which makes a significant contribution to the replenishment of the Russian budget and is the basis for the stability and progressive development of the country’s economy as a whole. This article is devoted to the analysis of the state of the Russian oil and gas industry in conditions of the instability of stock markets and the coronavirus and the assessment of the prospects for its development during the transition to the green energy. In addition, the article provides a scenario forecast regarding possible prices for stock quotes of the key oil and gas companies. According to the results obtained during the study, a correction in stock prices is inevitable in the oil and gas sector, but oil and gas companies will be in demand from long-term investors.
