Annotation
Migration has a significant impact on the economic, social, and demographic development of not only the national economy, but also the regional and global one. The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries are no exception, as their populations have remained an important source of migration flows for many decades. The purpose of the study is a comparative analysis of the population structure and migration processes in the ASEAN countries, establishing the directions of migration flows based on the results obtained in order to further develop effective migration policy directions in the region. In the process of writing the scientific article, statistical data from such reputable international organizations as the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the International Labor Organization, and the International Organization for Migration were used. The research methodology is based on the following general scientific methods: comparison and comparison, analogy, detail and generalization, statistical analysis, applied science, laws and principles of formal logic. As a result of the study, it was found that the population structure in the countries of the region is heterogeneous, there is a significant outflow of labor, the relative stability of the gender composition of workers migrating to work; migration policy measures aimed at stabilizing the region are proposed.
