Annotation
The article analyzes the perception of Russia and the United States as key actors using fake news to achieve political and military goals in the conduct of a hybrid or unconventional war. With the help of a bibliographic analysis of scientific publications posted in the NEB eLIBRARY.RU and the Scopus bibliographic database, a comparative analysis of the scientific interest and knowledge of fakes, as phenomena of modern society, in domestic and foreign scientific literature is carried out. It is concluded that Russian scientists are significantly behind in the field of practical creation or counteraction to the creation of fake materials. An attempt is made to identify universal solutions among the many disparate and unrelated author’s approaches to the study of fake content. As such, it is proposed to use the classification of fake material and the process that explains the negative impact of fakes on human behavior.
